Getting Started

Integrating the Checkout by Amazon module into your site, requires three steps.
  1. Create an account on Amazon's Seller Central website. Optionally, create an Associate Id to upsell other Amazon items.
  2. Install and configure the Checkout by Amazon Module in Orchard
  3. Add the Checkout by Amazon content part to any existing Content Type that represents your products. Optionally, add the Shopping Cart Widget to your pages.

Create an account on Amazon's Seller Central

The first step is to create an account on Amazon's Seller Central site. All you need to get started with the features in this module is the Individual account. Once you have your account setup, you'll need to retrieve the following information from the Seller Central site:
  • Merchant ID - this is available under the Settings tab in Checkout Pipeline Settings.
  • Access Key - this is available under the Integration tab in Access Key.
  • Secret Access Key - this is available under the Integration tab in Access Key.
  • Associate Tag - (optional) if you want to upsell other items on Amazon, get your Associate Tag from the Amazon Associates website.

Install and configure the Checkout by Amazon Module in Orchard

There are two ways to install the Checkout by Amazon module.
  1. Download the package from this site and manually upload it in the Orchard admin section.
  2. Use the Ochard Modules page in the admin section to search the gallery and download it directly into Orchard.

Once you have the UserVoice Widgets module installed and enabled, locate the Settings panel under the Amazon section in the dashboard of your Orchard site. On this page, provide the three pieces of data you collected when set up your Amazon Seller Central account.

Add the Checkout by Amazon Content Part

You can add the Checkout by Amazon content part to any content type that has a Title, Price, Image, Description and SKU field. If these fields don't exist, you also add custom fields to your content type.
  1. Click the Content link in the dashboard of your site
  2. Click the Content Types tab
  3. Click Edit next to the Content Type you want to add Checkout by Amazon to
  4. Click Add Parts
  5. Choose Checkout by Amazon and click Save
  6. Expand the Checkout by Amazon part and map the Amazon fields to fields in your content type
  7. Click Save. You should now have a Checkout By Amazon button displayed on your content

Add the Shopping Cart Widget

  1. Click Widgets in the dashboard of your site.
  2. Choose a Zone and click Add.
  3. Choose the Shopping Cart Widget.
  4. Click Save and check that the Shopping cart tab shows up on your site.
